1. Definition
   
   PVC granulation is a process in which polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin is mixed with various additives such as plasticizers, stabilizers, lubricants, and fillers in a certain proportion. Through processes such as heating, plasticization, and extrusion, it is made into granular products with a certain shape and particle size.
   
   Raw Materials
   
   • PVC Resin: It is the main raw material. There are different types such as suspension method and emulsion method. Suspension method resin is widely used.
   
   • Additives: Plasticizers can improve flexibility, such as phthalates; stabilizers can prevent PVC degradation, like lead salts and organotin; lubricants reduce friction, such as stearic acid and its salts; fillers reduce costs and improve performance, such as calcium carbonate.
   
   Main Equipment
   
   • Mixing Equipment: Such as high - speed mixers, which are used to uniformly mix the raw materials.
   
   • Extrusion Equipment: Single - screw or twin - screw extruders are used to complete plasticization and extrusion.
   
   • Pelletizing Equipment: There are air - cooled die - face pelletizers, underwater pelletizers, etc., which cut the extruded strips into granules.
   
   Process Flow
   
   • Ingredient Preparation: Weigh each raw material accurately according to the formula and put them into the mixer.
   
   • Mixing: In the high - speed mixer, the raw materials are fully and uniformly mixed to form a premix.
   
   • Plasticization and Extrusion: The premix enters the extruder. Under the action of heating and screw shearing, it is plasticized into a uniform melt and extruded from the die head.
   
   • Pelletizing: After the extruded melt is cooled, it is cut into granules by the pelletizer.
   
   • Screening and Packaging: Screen the granules to remove unqualified ones, and then pack the qualified granules into storage.
